I had a gastric band fitted September 29th 2009 and so far have lost nearly 5 stone and I don't have any regrets about having it done at all. The only thing is that for the past couple of weeks I just keep being sick, even with just drinking liquids sometimes. I was having the same problem a few months ago with added acid reflux so had to go and have my band loosened. This seemed to work ok to start with but I'm now having the same problems again with less restriction. Has anyone else had this problem or is it something I'm doing wrong. I'm getting to the point where I daren't eat anything incase I make things worse and I really don't want to be aspirated any more or there'll be no fluid left in the band but maybe this is the only option. I really don't want to put any weight back on as I feel so much better than I have in a long time.

  • lucy lastic : Thank you ndully for your response. I have read the pack over and over but I guess it will fall into place as I start on Wednesday. I was thinking of doing the slim fast drinks for 2 meals then a 350 calorie meal. Do you know anyone who has done the pre op diet this way and if so, were they succassfull? I need to lose between 6.5kg and 13kg in the next 4 weeks.
  • ndully : is it normal to find it a bit difficult when swallowing something after gastric band op
  • ndully : you need to follow the diet in the information book sent to you by your provider. i wish you good luck
  • ndully : to lucy lastic
