Hi im Kayleigh I have always been a big girl ever since i was a baby,my mum always tells me you always wanted food so i just gave it to you!. Since i was about 15 i have tried dieting, gym, pills, clubs never really loseing any weight. My weight seems to be going up every year and im now 24 and got up to 23 and a half stone. Then i few years ago i starting going to the gym and only eating one meal a day this worked and in about 7 months i loss 3 stone but when i went back to eating 3 meals again i put it all back on and more! Then in oct of last year i went to my doctors and said this is enough! so he referred me to see someone at Taunton hospital in the nov i went to see him and talked anout having weight loss surgery done,he told me to come back in a few months and i nedd to lose weight. It will be my 3rd time seeing him in 4 weeks and i have lost 4 stone by going to the gym for 10 hours a week and eating 3 small heathly meals. 2 weeks ago i went to see a dietitian who told me that my body has got used to my new lifestyle and i will find it very hard to lose any more weight. She talked to me about both the band nad bypass and told me that she thinks i should have the bypass as i may not lose much more weight with the band. When i see Dr kalk in 4 weeks time i need to say yes or no to the surgery,i would like to know which would be the best one for me?

  • lucy lastic : Thank you ndully for your response. I have read the pack over and over but I guess it will fall into place as I start on Wednesday. I was thinking of doing the slim fast drinks for 2 meals then a 350 calorie meal. Do you know anyone who has done the pre op diet this way and if so, were they succassfull? I need to lose between 6.5kg and 13kg in the next 4 weeks.
  • ndully : is it normal to find it a bit difficult when swallowing something after gastric band op
  • ndully : you need to follow the diet in the information book sent to you by your provider. i wish you good luck
  • ndully : to lucy lastic
