Hi Everyone

My name is Helena, and i am 29 years old.  I have had a serious back injury for the last three years and at the end of last years due to doctors not knowing what to do with me anymore, they suggested gastric surgery... I was due to see Dr Khoo at Queens Hospital in romford, but was advised the other day about a Dr Khan at Nuffield in Brentwood, Essex.

I am hoping and praying that there is someone out there who is either in the same position or has had the surgery with Dr Khan and can tell me how they feel and about what happened after the surgery as the other thing that worries me besides the obvious is the potential risks and how long it was before they noticed weight loss and was able to return to work...... I have tried every diet with my mum who recently passed away and the onlu potential danger i have is my weight, which i want to change....

Is there any one out there......

  • lucy lastic : Thank you ndully for your response. I have read the pack over and over but I guess it will fall into place as I start on Wednesday. I was thinking of doing the slim fast drinks for 2 meals then a 350 calorie meal. Do you know anyone who has done the pre op diet this way and if so, were they succassfull? I need to lose between 6.5kg and 13kg in the next 4 weeks.
  • ndully : is it normal to find it a bit difficult when swallowing something after gastric band op
  • ndully : you need to follow the diet in the information book sent to you by your provider. i wish you good luck
  • ndully : to lucy lastic
