So I have two more days to go before I have my gastric band surgery in Bristol. I've been on the yoghurt diet since Tuesday and coping so well so far, thank god I found some really good low fat yoghurts - for anyone who has to do this diet Rachel's organic low fat yoghurts are the best. Will write more on here once I've had the op and how i'm coping - good luck to any one waiting to go through this process it's a long one but worth it in the end. 11 Jan 12 It's now been 8 days since my band was fitted i'm feeling good about life (especially now the irritating stiches are out) have been cooking good healthy food to eat and found two good cook books - one in particular is Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies which I got from Amazon it has lots of very helpful information in it: recipies for all stages of post band eating from liquid to sloppy food and onwards, it also gives portion sizes depending on what type of surgery you've had be it banding or bypass. If any nursing staff from Southmead Hospital read this blog I would like to thank you for your care and attention after my surgery 110% commitment to all patients comfort and needs - thank you so much for caring. Been in contact with one of the ladies who had her op on the same day as me - she's doing ok apart from a chest infection hope she gets better soon. |
