Hi All,

This is my first blog,i had my gastric band fitted at Birmingham Heartlands on Friday 19th March 2010 by Mr Super. At my top weight i was 28stone 2lbs,26stone 10lbs on my surgery day and seven months after my surgery,im 19stone 10lbs, Im delighted with the results and in such a short time,its really changed my life in so many ways already. Before my surgery,which i waited 4 years for,i could barely walk to my kitchen the pain in my back was so severe,that and the awful breathlessness,i was limited in just about every way you can think of..friends did my shopping,i had no life,made all the more difficult by the fact that i had a 4year old son running round at home and a 17year old who had taken on most of the home chores. My life couldnt of gotten any worse,i was at rock bottom..but i held onto the fact that one day id get the op and that hopefully,it would be me who could walk to school with my little boy on his first day,not the friends who helped me but me myself and im glad to say,that September just gone,it was me who took him to school,it is me who fetches him home,who can bath him and be a mom again,its a terrific feeling.

Despite all of this,as much as i love my Betty Band..its sometimes really tough and i have down days when i have a few tears,my son worried about this at first,now he knows to just leave me to it and it will pass as of course,it always does.There is so much adjustment mentally,i see pics of myself and im SO pleased and thrilled but inside..i see the me before the op image and as much as i loveeee being a size 24/26 i still look to order size 32/34 lol..your mental attitude is SO important and i think like your band adjustments,you get mind adjustments along the way.

Id just like to wish all of you luck and success and id love to hear from anyone who got banded around the time i did and am always willing to help anyone with any questions they might want to ask.
