I'm Sarah, I'm 36 and married to Robert. I don't have any children yet but hoping the op will help my fertility in order to change that status.

I am currently scheduled to have my op with Mr El Hasani at Chelsfield in Kent (even though I live in Cambs) on April 11th 2010. Although if at all possible, I will bring this forward, cash permitting.

Oh.....ok.
43, single (form an orderly queue.......or even better catfight amongst yourselves) never married and as far as I know, no kids, live in london but am not one of those horrible londoners. Scottish by birth, grew up in plymouth (sorry.....am male, so obviously haven't grown up) Just came here to take their money......will retire somewhere quiet and pretty with the lucky winner of the catfight.
Gastric bypass 12th september, doctor suggested it and I thought sod it, why not? Had no idea if wanted band or bypass, surgeon advised bypass so went for that.
Lost 1 stone 10 on pre op diet, 6 stone 2 total 4.5 months post op.
No regrets. Best thing I coulda done.
Been on many, many diets.....can lose weight easily, but then it all comes back, with an extra stone on top........glad that's over.
Amazed I've gotten so old so fast. Feels like only 5 years since I was 25. Fell into a rut where I do nothing and don't get excited by much. Hoping that when I get to 14.5 stone and start jumping out of aeroplanes I'll get a kickstart and start enjoying myself again. Gonna start taking the bike abroad, do track days on the bike at a few race tracks when I lose it all and can buy some leathers. Would also like to take flying lessons.

Not on facebook and don't intend to be.

Hi I'm Bridget
I live in West London but orignally from Ireland.I am 47, single. I have a son aged 19 and a fantastic network of friends but no family nearby. I am hopefully due to have my op in Jan or Feb. Have struggled since the age of 8 (put on my first diet) with my weight and now have problems with my joints but hopefully after the op things will improve.
I feel very excited about the coming new year and feel very positive that my life will change for the better. :)

Loved reading this! (hope you don't mind as I'm a bandit!)

Sue - I see you are coming round to the idea of jeans!!! Told you so!

Rev - me and my Hubby met through a club called SPICE (no it's nothing like that!) but they do all the adrenalin junkie stuff and social stuff too! Might be worth a look. My hubby always said that the standard of men was so c*** he could have the pick of the women! LOL

Hi, i'm melissa, a 28 year old single mother of an 8 year old boy. And i have 2 cats, titch a tiger tabby, and belle a british blue, but don't tell rev, he has a thing for cats!! pmsl.
I live in Lincolnshire and was bypassed by Mr Sexy Simon Dexter at leeds nuffield hospital on the 30th october 09, i went the NHS route, which took roughly 2 years from start to finish.
To date i have lost 3st 1lb, that's counting from the day my pre op diet started, which was 10 days before the op.
I have been having trouble progressing through the stages, suffering alot of sickness, my surgoen said that i may need to have it dilated, just need to give it a bit more time first. Typical tho, i waited all that time for a smaller stomach, now i need it making bigger! lol
I don't regret having the op, not one bit! i did find it very hard over xmas while staying at my parents, with so much nice food around, but i got through it, and i tried my hardest to eat a xmas dinner, and i'm pleased to say i managed a tiny bit of turkey and cranberry sauce, after dreaming about it for weeks before hand! lol
I have just booked our holiday for next year, ok it's not til september, and it's only literally just up the road at skeggy butlins, but it's going to be the best holiday ever!! My first thin holiday in a long time!! I think i'm more excited than my son is!! lol
Oh and rev, i too am dying to do all the adrenaline stuff. i'm planning a charity skydive for cancer research, and would love to go wingwalking, but at £400 it's not within my grasp, and they won't let me do it as a charity thing :(

Well that's me!! xx

Hey up...

Most of you know me but hey ho.... for those that dont... :D

I'm Julie...33 married to Andy will be 5 years in march... 10 years together. We have 3 girls aged 8,5 and 4. I was bypassed by Mr Pollard in Leeds via open surgery on the NHS on the 15th July 2009, my journey took 18 months. As of today i have lost exactly 100lbs = 7st 2lbs... which puts me at 14st 5lbs, i would like to loose another 3.5 - 4 stones and doesn't sound as daunting as the 11 stones did at the beginning, they reckon at 5ft 4 my ideal weight should be 9st 8 lbs but i really am not keen to go there.

My life has improved greatly already, but am going for a voluntary councilling assessment on the 7th to help sort out my self image and accept me as me and not the old blob that once was.

People have said in the past that they have had comments about how surgery has changed their personnalities for the worse.... i.e less tolerant and not as nice.... personnally i think it is just that we get the confidence to say no... and not worry that they will be nasty or ought about our sizes.... they like me for me and dont feel sorry for me anymore...if that makes sense.

looking forward to the new slim me forever and the kids growing up enough for me and him to enjoy a motorbike together.... too selfish to let him enjoy one on his own!!!

Hi, my name is Mary, I am 48 and have a wonderful husband, two grown up children and a westie called Toby. I live on the south coast near Worthing, West Sussex.

I was bypassed on 28th November 2009 by Mr Slater at St Richards in Chichester and am loving it!! I have lost 2st 1lb so far and finally feel like I have a future to look forward to and I will get a good quality of life.

I love gardening particularly growing my own vegetables, travelling and swimming. I am passionate about sport, in particular cricket and usually watch England play each year. I also have tickets to go to the Golf's Ryder Cup in Wales next October - woohooo :)

I am registered disabled and have rheumatoid arthritis, Addisons Disease and hypothyroidism to name a few!!

The last few years have been very hard but I have every hope that 2010 is going to be really good. :)

Mary x

Thought I was gonna need a second cat board, but I can just reuse the first.

Jules......can see what you mean......we don't feel the need to be as polite. I used to think I needed to be more polite 'cos I was fat. Strange, eh?
Though I don't think I can get any more intolerant or unpleasant........but I like a challenge
